Ha, I learn something new everyday. To BBQ 1.5 inches steak, you need to use direct heat for 4 minutes and then flip to other side to cook it with indirectly heat for 6 minutes to reach medium rare. I guess I have BBQ for 20 years in a wrong way because I always lift the lid and use the knife to check the doneness. This is the first time I know you can BBQ steaks with indirect heat which means you close the lid of your grill and leave your meat on one side and use the fire on other side of the grill. It better be good this time because all my guests are barbarians today who like bloody meat only. This is the most expensive grill I ever got in my life. If it won't work with the new grill technique, I better because a vegetarian. Hmmmm...... 知難行易, life can be sweet for the most part.
